Performance Evaluation of Mulching Machine as an Attachment to a Rotavator

Mulching is done to conserve moisture, improve the fertility & health of soil, reduce weed growth, and enhance Beauty area. Before laying mulch sheets, suitable seedbed preparation major tasks before farmers. Traditionally, seedbeds are prepared with help draught animals or machines then mulching by manually which very time energy consuming. However, each these operations individually, resulted more requirement complete whole operation. Thus, a machine was developed performs all required for in single pass save operational energy. The performance evaluated determining effective field capacity, efficiency, fuel consumption, sheet covering percentage. Machine tested at three levels forward speed as 1.0-1.5 km/h, 1.5-2.0 km/h 2.0- 2.5 km/h. highest capacity found 0.1595 ha/h 2.0-2.5 efficiency obtained 83.07 % level. lowest consumption 3.0 l/h 1.0- 1.5 m/h 94%.
